The Alberto Rojo Trio
The Alberto Rojo Trio focuses on traditional Argentinean folk songs, new composition, jazz and contemporary improvisations. The trio consists of Alberto Rojo on guitar and vocals, Michael Gould on percussion and Jordan Schug on bass.
Alberto's music has been widely recorded by artists around the world. His album Para mi sombra was praised by Rolling Stone-Argentina as one of the five best folkloric albums of 2003. One can gear him on the anthology Rough Guide to the music of Argentina and on Mecedes Sosa's Corazón Libre., released worldwide by the German label Deutsche Grammophon. The album received the Latin Grammy in 2006.
Michael Gould is an Associate Professor of Music at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan and has received international recognition as a performer and scholar in the field of drumset, contemporary percussion performance and pedagogy. He has performed and given clinics all over the world. Michael has released over 100 educational percussion videos. He has also composed music for a wide range of ensembles and venues from the Münich Opera and Ballet to National Public Radio.
