Brew for the River: Wolverine
GREAT BEER NEEDS GOOD, QUALITY WATER…GOOD WATER QUALITY DEPENDS ON GREAT COMMUNITIES.
Back by popular demand, five Ann Arbor microbreweries are teaming up with Huron River Watershed Council (HRWC) to sponsor a night dedicated to water, beer, and the people who love both. Wolverine, Jolly Pumpkin, Grizzly Peak, Arbor Brewing, and Blue Tractor are hosting the second annual BREW FOR THE RIVER event every Thursday night from August 9th to September 6th, from 5:00 to 7:30 pm.
Each brewpub will feature their full menu of food and drinks along with a special beer made just for BREW FOR THE RIVER. These new brews are named after familiar streams and waterways of the Huron, celebrating our water source. A portion of the proceeds from food and drink sales will be donated to HRWC.
This week, JOIN US AT WOLVERINE! Brewer Duncan Williams is kicking off the event with a bang, premiering a new beer, Honey Creek. Also, don’t forget to pick up your Brew for the River Passport at Wolverine. Collect all five stamps to be eligible for the big drawing at the final Brew event at Blue Tractor on September 6th. The Grand Prize is a growler a month for ten months, from the participating microbreweries. A new event this year: River Trivia! Teams will compete to answer questions about beer, water conservation, and the Huron. In addition, there will be prizes at each of the Brew events, where lucky winners can win “One Hour with the Brewer” and a growler of the special event brew to take home, along with other prizes like T-shirts!
So join us for a celebration of our river, with beer made from Huron River water at BREW FOR THE RIVER and visit the website (http://www.hrwc.org/events/brew-for-the-river/) to learn more about the events.
Drink responsibly, use water responsibly.
