Washtenaw Community College hosts career and apprenticeship activities November 18-22
Students, alumni, community invited to participate
ANN ARBOR, Michigan (November 15, 2024) – Washtenaw Community College (WCC) will host National Career Development Week and National Apprenticeship Week activities November 18-22.
It’s the 10th annual celebration of the U.S. Department of Labor’s National Apprenticeship Week, with activities designed to help students, alumni and the community prepare for a more prosperous future through hands-on apprenticeships.
The week kicks off with the virtual “Employer Connect with the State of Michigan” event for the public on Tuesday, November 19, from 12-1:30 p.m. The discussion will introduce career opportunities available with the State of Michigan.
On Wednesday, November 20, the college will host a variety of events related to career and apprenticeships, including:
1-6 p.m. Garrett’s, Student Center – "Pop Into Your Career" activities where students play games, win prizes and get pop-themed food/snacks. The public is invited.
- 1:45-4:30 p.m. Community Room, Student Center – Virtual Reality Career Exploration. WCC students and alumni invited.
- 1-3 p.m. Garrett’s, Student Center – LinkedIn Professional Headshots. WCC students and alumni invited.
- 3-4:30 p.m. Garrett’s, Student Center – 3M Film Screening and Apprenticeship Information Session. The public is invited.
- 4:45–6 p.m. Community Room, Student Center – Adult Career Exploration Event with VR Career Exploration. The public is invited and pre-registration is required.
- 1-6 p.m. Student Center, First Floor – Community Resource Tables. Open to the public.
On Thursday, November 21:
- 5:30-7 p.m. Occupational Education Building – Transportation Technologies Career and Apprenticeship Fair. WCC students and alumni invited.
